The 2021 Academic Annual Conference of Contemporary Accounting Review was successfully held in Yunnan

On December 23 to 24, 2021, by Accounting Development Research Center of Xiamen University , Accounting Department, School of Management, Xiamen University and School of Business Administration and School of Tourism Management (School of Accounting), Yunnan University Starting from the system, telling the Chinese Story well -- Accounting and Finance Seminar and The 2021 Academic Annual Conference of Contemporary Accounting Review was held in Kunming, Yunnan province. A total of 107 experts, scholars and teachers and students from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Chongqing University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, East China Normal University, Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, Anhui University, Northeast University of Finance and Economics, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Xiamen University, Yunnan University and other brother college and universities attended the conference.

On December 24th, the conference was introduced by Professor Liu Feng, editor-in-chief of Contemporary Accounting Review, and hosted by Professor Wu Peng, vice Dean of School of Business Administration and School of Tourism Management (School of Accounting) of Yunnan University.

The opening ceremony was delivered by Professor Yang Shaojun, director of the Social Sciences Department of Yunnan University, and Professor Li Zengquan, assistant to the president of Shanghai University of Finance and economics and executive editor of Contemporary Accounting Review. On behalf of the University, Professor Yang welcomed and thanked the experts for their presence; Professor Li expounded the theme of this annual conference, "Starting from the system, telling the Chinese story well", and expounded the purpose and original intention of the Contemporary Accounting Review, expressing the best wishes for the development of accounting.

After the opening ceremony, the conference entered four parts: keynote speech, thesis report and exchange, academic lecture and closing ceremony.


The keynote speech was presided over by Professor Long Xiaoning, executive editor of Contemporary Accounting Review and School of Intellectual Property of Xiamen University.

Professor Guan Kai, dean of The School of Ethnology and Sociology, Yunnan University, and Professor Du Xingqiang, Dean of the Department of Accounting, School of Management, Xiamen University, respectively gave keynote speeches entitled "Development myth from the perspective of anthropology -- Why people lie down and become involution" and "Cause and effect".


Professor Guan Kai introduced the purpose and characteristics of "development" from the perspective of anthropology, analyzed the relationship between development and system based on the modern cultural crisis of disenchantment, disembedding and dislocalization, and analyzed the causes of lying down and involution from two dimensions of structure and initiative. Professor Guan's wonderful academic sharing injected new elements into the annual conference and aroused the participants' thinking and discussion.

Professor Du Xingqiang first introduced the problems existing in the process of presumption of causality in existing studies, further explained the possible approaches of presumption of causality from the dimensions of relevance, intervention and counterfactual, and put forward his own opinions from the perspective of formal institutions and informal institutions. Professor Du's profound and simple academic sharing attracted a lot of applause, and the participants had a more profound and comprehensive understanding of the presumption of causality.

Professor Gu Zhaoyang delivered a speech entitled "The New Lease Accounting and Investment Efficiency". Professor Gu paid attention to the change of leasing standards, combined finance with practice, analyzed the impact of the change of leasing standards on the investment behavior of enterprises from two perspectives of accounting information disclosure and confirmation, and called on scholars to pay attention to the impact of the change of accounting standards on corporate behavior.
