On October 29, 2018, the Ministry of Finance “Accounting Experts Training Project” Result Report Conference was held in Jinan University Alumni Building. The report was hosted by Accounting Society of China and addressed by Tian Zhixin, Deputy Secretary-General of Accounting Society of China. In 2014, Professor Liu Feng of Xiamen University, Professor Song Xianzhong of Jinan University, Professor Wu Zhongxin of Hunan University of Finance and Economics and Hunan University, who had been selected for the Ministry of Finance "Accounting Experts Training Project ", made the results reports respectively. Professor Qu Xiaohui of Xiamen University, Professor Yang Xiongsheng of Nanjing University and Professor Wang Liyan of Peking University commented on the results reports of the three professors. Professor Wei Minghai of Guangzhou University and Professor Wang Hua of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics also made interactive speeches at the conference. More than 100 experts from brother colleges and practitioners, as well as some teachers and students of Jinan University attended the result report conference.

Professor Liu Feng of our center reported the results with the theme of "Starting from zero". Professor Liu Feng stressed that we should always have a state of mind "starting from zero", use the developmental perspective to look at problems, to avoid solidified thinking, to find new problems from a new perspective and new ideas. Professor Liu Feng systematically and deeply combs the development context and key breakthroughs of financial accounting theory, emphasizing that doing research should not only require familiarity with the theory of the relevant research field at this stage, but also require tracing to the source. We should clearly understand the development context and pattern of accounting and financial theory, get rid of the inherent lock mode of thinking, and combine the relevant theories with the new system changes to deduce and deepen them. The report of Professor Liu Feng fully demonstrated his profound academic skills of accounting theory research, his understanding focusing on innovation and his responsibility of the times as a scholar, bringing theoretical enjoyment and research inspiration to the participants.

The result reports of the three reporters as the selected experts of the Ministry of Finance “Accounting Experts Training Project” were fully affirmed and highly valued by the other experts. Professor Qu Xiaohui of our school especially pointed out that to believe in one's knowledge, one must first think of one's character. The three experts have their true qualities, solid character, and academic focus. They are diligent in accounting research for decades. The participants at the conference responded enthusiastically to the experts' reports.
