On December 31, 2021, the Fujian Provincial Department of Education announced the list of provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses in 2021. According to the Min Jiao Gao [2021] No. 52 document, the accounting department of Xiamen University, "Fundamentals of accounting" [course leader is Professor Liu Feng] was rated as the first-class course in 2021 in Fujian Province.

As a course of aesthetic education and general education, “Fundamentals of accounting” repositions a subject course that has long been considered to be highly technical, applied and professional into a basic subject according to the new theoretical research understanding, and carries out reform according to the audience characteristics of general education courses. It is reported that the course team compiled the concept, theoretical basis and preliminary practical experience of the course construction - "general courses in the Department of Accounting: Theory and practice", which was published in China University Teaching in July 2021.

In addition, this course is the tenth batch of online open courses of Xiamen University. It focuses on the deep integration of information technology and education and teaching, and is committed to the opening and sharing of high-quality courses, aiming to become a high-quality MOOC widely welcomed by students.

The accounting department of Xiamen University has always attached great importance to undergraduate education and has always placed undergraduate education at the core. At present, one course of our department has been awarded the national first-class course, three courses have been awarded the provincial first-class course, and one course has been awarded the Fujian virtual simulation experiment teaching project. Next, our department will continue to focus on the construction of first-class undergraduate courses, comprehensively promote and create more "golden Courses", and commit to the construction of national first-class majors.
