The Center held an interdisciplinary symposium on "Accounting + Oracle"

On October 18, 2022, in order to strengthen the cross-disciplinary research, the "Accounting + Oracle" interdisciplinary symposium was organized by the Accounting Development Research Center of Xiamen University, a key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, in Room 502, 5th Floor, Chengfeng Building. More than 10 people attended the symposium, including Professor Zhang Weijie from the Department of Chinese Language, College of Humanities, Associate Professor Liu Xiaoxiao, Associate Professor Xiong Feng, Associate Professor Liu Xinming, Assistant Professor ShenTu Lirong, Assistant Professor Guo Rui, Assistant Professor Li Shengnan, Assistant Professor He Yuan and doctoral students from the College of Management, Xiamen University. Professor Liu Feng, Director of the Accounting Development Research Center of Xiamen University and Professor of the Accounting Department of the School of Management, chaired the symposium.

During the symposium, Prof. Liu Feng first discussed with Prof. Zhang Weijie the origin of the oracle bone script. Several young teachers, including Xiong Feng, Liu Xinming, and He Yuan, exchanged their views on ancient scripts with Prof. Zhang Weijie. Professor Zhang Weijie shared the history of ancient script interpretation with the audience.

Finally, Prof. Liu Feng stressed again the necessity and importance of cross-discipline and hoped that accounting scholars could be bold in their imagination and do more interesting research.
