On May 31, 2023, in order to strengthen interdisciplinary research, the "Accounting + Ecology" interdisciplinary Symposium organized by the Key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, the Accounting Development Research Center of Xiamen University (referred to as the "Accounting Center") was held in Conference Room 502 on the 5th floor of Chengfeng Building. More than 10 people, including Professor Li Zhenji and Associate Professor Chen Yuxin from the School of Environment and Ecology of Xiamen University, Professor Liu Feng and Associate Professor Li Maoliang from the Accounting Center, doctoral students Chen Xuying, doctoral students Liu Chong, students Tu Yuze and students Yang Ziyue, attended the symposium. Professor Liu Feng, Director of the Accounting Center and Department of Accounting, School of Management, chaired the symposium.

Professor Liu Feng first extended a warm welcome to Professor Li Zhenji and others. At the symposium, Professor Li Zhenji and Associate Professor Chen Yuxin elaborated on theories such as biodiversity and the hypothesis of biological neutrality, as well as the competitive and mutually promoting relationship between neutral theory and evolution theory. Subsequently, they had an in-depth discussion with Professor Liu Feng, Associate Professor Li Maoliang and others on the status quo of biodiversity, the emergence of the theory of biological neutrality, and its role and influence in human society and ecological protection.
