On May 12, 2023, the ninth National Congress of Accounting Society of China was held in National Accounting Institute in Beijing. The meeting deeply studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, comprehensively summarized the work of the eighth Council of Accounting Society of China, deeply studied the development ideas of accounting academic cause in the new era and new journey, and systematically planned the key work tasks of the ninth Council. Liu Kun, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Finance, made a written speech, and Zhu Zhongming, member of the Leading Party Group and Vice minister of the Ministry of Finance, attended the conference and made a speech. The meeting was presided over by Zhu Guangyao, former Vice Minister of Finance and president of the eighth Council of Accounting Society of China.

The meeting pointed out that the 20th CPC National Congress has scientifically planned the goals, tasks and major policies for the development of the Party and the country in the next five years and beyond. Accounting Society of China will closely combine the new situation of economic and social development and the new tasks of accounting reform and development, focus on the task requirements of the five major projects of independent theoretical system, academic exchange platform, new professional think tank, academic talent team, first-class academic field, steadily carry out relevant work, and constantly create a new situation of accounting academic development in China.

The meeting examined and approved the work report of the eighth session of the Board and the financial revenue and expenditure report, examined and approved the Articles of Association of the Accounting Society of China (Revised Draft), the Development Plan of the ninth session of the Board of the Accounting Society of China (Draft), and the Measures for the Management of the Membership Fees of the Accounting Society of China (Revised Draft), and elected the ninth session of the Board of the Accounting Society of China and its leading body. Professor Du Xingqiang of our center was elected Vice President of the 9th Council of Accounting Society of China, and Professor Qu Xiaohui, Professor Liu Feng and Professor Zhang Guoqing were elected members of the 9th Council of Accounting Society of China.
