On the evening of June 5, 2023, the nineteenth lecture of the Guanya Cross Disciplines Statement was held simultaneously online and offline in Room 512, Jia Geng Building 2. Professor Li Zhenji, Executive director of the Chinese Ecological Society and School of Environment and Ecology of Xiamen University, is invited to give an academic lecture entitled "Yuheng System and Biodiversity Conservation in the New Era".

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Liu Feng warmly welcomed Professor Li Zhenji's arrival, and briefly introduced the purpose of opening the "Guanya Cross Disciplines Statement" : First, to build an interdisciplinary communication platform for accounting scholars to expand their academic horizons, better understand the world, and do more interesting and diversified research; Secondly, it aims to help accounting scholars to explore more directions of accounting evolution with the help of theories and methods of various disciplines. Finally, it is expected that this lecture can provide some help to the existing ESG research field.

In the lecture, Professor Li Zhenji first introduced the origin of Yuheng system and some interesting phenomena full of wisdom in nature, which aroused great interest of teachers and students attending the meeting. At the same time, Professor Li introduced the rich knowledge of biodiversity in ancient China by quoting the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the Classic of Shennong's Herbology, the Book of Songs and the Book of Rites, and further elaborated the environmental protection concepts and practices of ancient schools of thought such as Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism, as well as the evolution of ancient ecological protection systems. These concepts emphasize the unity of nature and man, and Professor Li also pointed out that we must inherit the Chinese nation's ancient concept of "respecting nature and loving nature."


Professor Li then took the construction of nature reserves as an example to introduce specific measures for biodiversity protection in the new era. In addition, Professor Li also believes that China has shifted from passive to proactive, taking the responsibility to lead the global biodiversity conservation.
Afterwards, Professor Li had in-depth exchanges and discussions with teachers and students online and offline on issues such as the main body of ecological environment protection, the relationship between "nature based" and "human based" ideas in biodiversity, the causes of biodiversity, the indicators to quantify biodiversity, and the impact of the evolution of biodiversity theory on human behavior.
